Michael J. Costa, CPA, CCIFP, CCA, a founding partner at CostaRothbort has over twenty-five years experience in providing accounting, auditing, tax planning and consulting services to businesses and individuals.

Michael is known as a trusted advisor to his clients, to whom he provides guidance on numerous matters, from traditional accounting, auditing and tax to more dynamic services including asset protection, business succession planning and estate tax minimization. He has particular expertise in working with closely held and family owned businesses in the construction, construction related, retail and wholesale industries, as well as to professional service firms and high net-worth individuals.
Professional Achievements:
A Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) who has been featured in “Who’s Who in Accounting” in Long Island Business News, Michael is one of only 700 individuals nationwide to be so designated, recognizing his advanced knowledge of taxation, surety, legal and insurance issues.
Michael is also a Certified Construction Auditor (CCA), a designation granted by National Association of Construction Auditors (NACA). CCA status recognizes those professionals who focus on accounting, auditing and consulting and whose primary experience is in the field of auditing and evaluating internal controls in the construction project environment. Only members of NACA are eligible for certification; they are senior professionals who meet a stringent set of requirements, which include experience, continuing education, specialty training and professional designations.
A former adjunct professor of accounting at State University of New York at Old Westbury, Michael often presents seminars to bankers, attorneys, sureties and business owners, covering such topics as succession planning, financial reporting issues and executive benefits.
Michael professional memberships include the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). He serves as a director on the board of Contractors for Kids, a non-profit organization founded to assist children and their families overcome obstacles they have encountered through sickness, injury or death.
